Support A Hockey Family...and Kid.

Hockey Friends:
The Krueger Family has been supporters of our store and Scott has coached my son Antonio. They are asking for help to support a great cause. I am a big believer in this cause as my cousin Mark Dylo had Leukemia and is now doing very well (except for his hockey skills).

Below is a letter from the Krueger brothers and a link to where you can make a donation.

Thank You.
Joe

Family and Friends,
Every five minutes, a family receives news that a loved one has leukemia or lymphoma. We became one of those “five minutes” on February 7th, when our 4-year-old nephew Will was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Will is currently in a treatment phase called Intensified Consolidation, which means extensive weekly (sometimes even daily)
chemotherapy treatments. Among the more serious (and atypical) complications Will has endured in the past two months: an enlarged spleen and liver*; fluid around his heart and lungs; and an especially scary anaphylactic reaction to one of the chemo treatments. This is in
addition to what doctors consider to be more typical side effects: allergic reactions, rashes, hair loss, weight gain from steroids, and body/joint pain. In layman’s terms (or as we call it, “gas jockey language”), Will has 3½ years of treatment ahead of him. In medical terms, this
means x-rays, body scans, IVs, blood transfusions, blood testing, bone marrow testing, spinal taps and shots. Imagine the anxiety you would face having chemo administered through a port in your chest, shots in your thighs and directly into your spine. Now imagine you’re only 4 years old. That’s why the Krueger Brothers have joined a new family called Team in Training (TNT) to help find a cure for leukemia and lymphoma. TNT is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s largest fundraising program, bringing in over $73 million this past year alone. We are competing in the Hy-Vee Triathlon on June 22nd for two reasons:
1. To show our love and support for our brother Nick, his wife Peggy, and our two nephews Will and Charlie
2. To raise money to put a stop to these diseases!
We won’t be able to train for this event alone, and we would be honored if you would help.
Please go to
www.active.com/donate/tntia/kruegerbrothers and help us toward our goal of $10,000. All contributions are taxdeductible, and no pledge is too small. Please also forward this e-mail to anyone you can think of, with our apologies if you’re receiving it multiple times.
Will’s strong spirit and infectious smile are motivation to all of us. It keeps, us focused on the day we can tell him, “Will, you can do anything. You beat cancer!”
Thank you for your support! See you at the race for a Miller Lite!
The Krueger Brothers
Scott, Brian, Mark and Brad
