Week #1 is now complete for both C Leagues & the D League. With 4 games played this past Sunday, we have established standings & stats. These will be updated on our website as soon as I can get to it.
The Sunday C League saw Don's Auto & Truck defeat Team #4 by a score of 9-4. Anderson was superb in net allowing only 4 goals while his team had 9 different players earning points in a team effort win. Knight, Lang, Brandon, Kozak & S. Gorelik each scored goals with Lang, Brandon, Davidson, I. Gorelik, Hudyma, S. Gorelik & Dean each earning assists. Team #4 had T. Kleven, Wermers & Bilbrey scoring goals while Wermers & R. Kleven assisted.
In the 2nd game, the sharp looking Atlantic Coca Cola / Yankee Doodle Dandy Tattoo Team earns a win over Waste Management. A final score of 6-3 had Whitaker, Wolf, Wehrenberg & Glessner lighting the lamp for Coke/YDD while teammates Abrams, McDonough & Koenig each assisted. Runner, Cronin & Heckman had goals for WM while Kelley & Carlson earned assists. Coke/YDD Captain Whitaker when asked what he thought of the game stated, "After I drink this ice cold Coca Cola and get my leg tatooed at Yankee Doodle Dandy, I'll enjoy the win."
The D League kicked off their first games as well, and in a much anticipated match up, Cup O' Kryptonite beats out 11 to 7 Insurance for the first win of the season. Whiteman, Graham & Johnson registered goals, while Whiteman, Graham & Beyer earned assists. Kindred scored the lone goal for 11 to 7, with the assist coming from Keller. Alien Hockey had the Bye week and many D league players took time to develop their skills in the 1 hour practice session after the first game.
