The 4th Annual Labatt's National Pond Hockey Championship was held on Dollar Lake in Eagle River Wisconsin and 6 of our very own "Untouchables" attended.
Jeff Cronin, Dave Mulford, Corey Sedrel, Scott Richardson, Mike Camp and Tim Wermers competed along with 200 other teams from 24 states. They had 20 rinks set up, Neal Broten was special guest speaker, Stanley cup was present as you can see. Tim Wermers stated "Great time, great people! Don't miss it."
Its great to see that other adults that love the sport are traveling to tournaments and events. Last year a group of us went to Las Vegas and although we did not win a single game (actually, Bishop would say we were not competitive) we still had a blast. Now this group plays some outdoor pond hockey in Wisconsin, doesn't win a game and same result? Good times!
The Vegas crew is back at it again this April and although they joined the 14 & Under girls division, they still won't win a game, but it sure will be fun!
Keep on getting your groups of friends together and travel somewhere. Make it a mini-vacation and show the world how good Des Moines hockey truly is.....or at least that we can party with the best of 'em.
