If it works for the USHL, AHL & NHL, why not us? I can't count the number of times I've wanted to square off with an opposing player. There may be a need to change the flow of the game, defend a teammate or maybe just because the other guy deserves it. We've got too many skilled "finesse" guys in the league like Dylo for example. What if you could egg him into a fight so he's out for 5 minutes? Well, maybe not a good idea against Mikey. If you've never seen him fight, look here .
Each team could position themselves to acquire an enforcer that would keep the peace for their team. This way, when a goalie gets poked at, you can expect an uppercut to the teeth and know it was deserved. You say something bad about another team's jersey, and you will pay the price. Or even if you can't skate, pass or shoot well, you still have an opportunity to grab the guy across from you during a face off and challenge them to a battle.
All in all, I think we'd bring in more fans, defend our team's honor, and maybe even miss a few days of work. Don't forget to vote in the poll above to choose the best match up.
